Best Places to Visit in Ireland for Halloween 2024

Halloween originated in Ireland from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain and is a tradition that proudly lives on in the Emerald Isle. If you plan on celebrating this ancient tradition in style this year with a trip to Ireland. Here are some of the best places in our humble opinion to spend your Halloween

Kick-starting the list with our absolute favourite is…

Farmaphobia

“IRELAND’S BIGGEST HALLOWEEN EVENT

Our tormented and twisted minds have been working overtime to ensure that Farmaphobia will return for Halloween 2022. With 5 Terrifying Haunts spread over 100 Acres of Fear, Ireland’s BIGGEST Halloween Event is not to be missed.”

We have visited this attraction for the past four years, and it absolutely never disappoints. Every year I say to myself I’ll know what’s coming, and every year I am pleased to say I am very very wrong! If you are looking for a real scare, as you run around a farm in the dark, screaming like a lunatic then this is for you 👻

Pooka Spooka at Causey Farm

This is an absolutely wonderful experience for the whole family, with traditional games and crafts, Scarecrow corn maze, Mirror Maze, Hayride, Limb Throwing, Broonstick Ride, Fortune Telling & Story Telling

So this is the cutest Halloween experience we have had with the kids. Even if it’s raining it’s just so nice, the corn maize is actually a very good size which is hard to find and the attractions and games really don’t disappoint.

Ladyrath Pumpkin Patch

The children can pick their own Pumpkin and bring them to the Halloween carving workshop in the Ladyrath Pumpkin Patch barn where all the grown-ups and little ones get involved together.  Just pop in a candle and leave the cleanup to them! There will also be face painting, treats, and lots more fun for everyone.

Halloween at Emerald Park

This one is a NO SCARE event, but gives you the family-friendly Halloween vibe without the tears for the little ones.

Galway Aboo Halloween Festival

“Something spooktacular is taking place in Galway this Halloween Bank Holiday Weekend. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of the October bank holiday weekend, the city’s medieval streets will host many fun and free events planned for the weekend with high spirits guaranteed. The fiendishly creative Macnas Halloween Parade is expected to return, bringing up to 70,000 spectators onto the streets for the standout event of the season.” – Galwaytourism.ie

The Nightmare Realm

“Awarded ‘No.1 Haunt in the World’, ‘Best Independent European Haunt’, ‘Most Entertaining Indoor Scream Park’  and ‘Most Entertaining Horror Experience’. It’s easy to see why we’re the best.” – The Nightmare Realm

Derry Halloween

“A great Samhain gathering.
Our Walled City comes alive with ancient spirits welcoming you to join our Awakening. Fill yourself with folklore, feasting, and festivity, as Derry~Londonderry reopens the pathways of the Halloween travellers of the past.  Remember to don a disguise to keep them at bay!” – derryhalloween.com

Halloween at Crumlin Road Gaol

“This Halloween, Belfast’s Infamous Prison, Crumlin Road Gaol is unlocking its doors for 3 weeks of intense nail-biting tours. Guaranteed to make even the bravest of visitors jump! ” – crumlinroadgaol.ie
